statement

flekk’s work examines power & identity—how they are constructed, circulated, and internalized through images, language, and systems of value. the work investigates how authority takes visual form, how belief is produced, and how desire is organized within contemporary culture.

drawing from materials that already carry social and symbolic weight, familiar signs—language, icons, typography, fragments of archival imagery—are recontextualized to expose the mechanisms through which meaning and value are assigned.

the resulting compositions operate in tension between clarity and disruption, seduction and resistance. rather than offering resolution, the work remains deliberately ambiguious—reflecting the ways power is displayed, maintained, contested and performed through bold visual culture.

flekk is a los angeles–based artist working primarily in mixed media.

flekk received a bachelors degree in textile & apparel design from cornell university and has completed graduate-level studies and continuing education in collage, painting, and color theory at art center college of design, otis college of art & design, johns hopkins university and ucla.

exhibitions include a solo presentation at SPACE LA and group exhibitions at bergamot station arts center and santa monica hangar art studios. flekk was accepted to the artist residency at vermont studio center and is a pending participant at the banff centre for arts and creativity in alberta, canada. the artist lives and works in los angeles, ca.
